Fun fanciful spelling for kids

The Majik Cirkus uses fanciful spelling. This means that some words are spelled in a fun way, but not the right way. See if you can find the four fanciful words while you are reading the story.

Here is a list of the fanciful words. The correct spelling is underlined :

1) Majik-- is usually spelled magic. There are some who say that the word majik is an old old spelling of the word magic and that majik means Mother Nature's energy moving out like a karate chop.

2) Cirkus-- should be spelled circus. Circus is a hard word to spell because the first C is soft (meaning it sounds like s) and the second C is "hard" (meaning it sounds like k) . So now you know how to spell circus correctly. The Majik Cirkus was named and spelled by a bunch of dumb animals who did not know any better... and the name just stuck.

3) Beauty-full-- is spelled beautiful... just take the word beauty, drop the 'y' and add an 'i' with 'ful' and you get beautiful.

4) Laffter-- laughter is the sound of people laughing. Laffter is a dolphin's name.
